Special Needs

Last week a mom and her 7 children walked over 3 miles to the LINC Mission Center hoping to talk with Pastor Lincon. While she was waiting, we learned that she had lost her job and had no food. She was given bread and peanut butter and jelly which the children immediately began to eat. It was then we learned they had not eaten in two days. We filled a bag for her from our limited pantry and one of our staff drove her home.

This week a mom and her 5 children came looking for help. When asked why her children were not in school She began to cry, embarrassed that her children were turned away from school because they did not have the required uniforms and she couldn't afford to get them or the school supplies they needed.

It is almost daily, now, that families show up hoping to find help. We have a list of resources we can give them, a meager food pantry from which we can share, and someone who can pray with them and give them the spiritual food they crave. We thank God for these opportunities. We will continue to receive non perishable food items to stock the pantry. Gift cards for Wal-Mart or Fiesta are also needed for purchases of school supplies and school uniforms.

You can drop off donations at the LINC Mission Center, 161 West Road, Houston (77037)
