LINC originally began as an idea to get our churches back into the city. Even though some congregations had never left, our impact was dwindling. This has been the case all across the country, and the world for that matter. Today’s city remains the greatest and fastest growing mission field in the world with millions of people from all over the globe living in close proximity to each other and to the church.
In 2002 we began by serving the community of Denver Harbor through the ministry of Centro de Fe y Esperanza and in Copperfield through Familia de Fe. Denver Harbor was LINC’s testing ground for how to impact an under-resourced urban community in a sustainable way and Familia de Fe was our first attempt at planting a new church. We still continue the outreach in Denver Harbor through the ministry of Pastor Luciano Vega-Ayala. They not only worship on Sunday morning as a congregation, but also impact the lives of the community through a variety of meaningful ministries. Our ministry throughout the city quickly expanded to include dozens of different ethnic backgrounds. We believe that to impact this city, we need a multitude of churches led by indigenous leaders who seek to transform their communities through Gospel-centered holistic ministries. LINC’s number one priority is growing the Kingdom of God throughout our communities. This work, however, doesn’t always happen in the sanctuary. We are taking the Gospel to the streets and homes of our communities through a variety of ways. The pages of this newsletter showcase just some of the ways this is happening. It is our goal that the name of Jesus’ be glorified and that His Kingdom of grace may grow.
