Donald Christian was named the Dean of the College of Business for Concordia University at Austin in the Fall of 2005.  For the five years previous to that, Mr. Christian served as Headmaster at Lutheran High North in Houston.  Over those five years, the school grew in both student enrollment and reputation, establishing quality programs in academics, athletics, and fine arts as well as a strong student service learning component within the community.

Mr. Christian recently received his Doctor of Management in Organizational Leadership degree from the University of Phoenix.  His research and dissertation focused on the correlation between leadership skills and interagency collaboration among organizations.  In addition to his work at Concordia, he also presently serves on the Board of LINC-Houston.

Prior to his work at Lutheran High North, Mr. Christian served in a variety of leadership postitions, including Associate Director of the Lutheran Education Association of Houston, Parish Life Administrator at Trinity Lutheran Church in downtown Houston, and as a high school band director.  He earned a Masters in Music and Wind Conducting from the University of Cincinnati in 1986, and completed his undergraduate work at Concordia University River Forest (Illinois) in 1981.

"It is both a honor and a privilege to have been called to this position at Concordia University," stated Mr. Christian.  "We have the opportunity to provide a business education that not only prepares students to be successful, but to go and make a difference in whatever vocation in which they serve.  It is paramount that we as a College of Business - and indeed the entire University - develop Christian leaders.  I believe there is no better way to do that than in an environment that promotes quality academics embedded within a Lutheran ethos."

Don is married to Deborah Christian who serves as english teacher and college admissions coordinator at Concordia Academy, Austin's Lutheran High School.  They have made their home in Round Rock where they enjoy their backyard garden, reading, and traveling.
